Past
Life Regression
by Randi Botnick, CHT
Have
you ever experienced déjà vu when you were somewhere new
and you are certain that you've been there before? Do you regularly have
repetitive dreams in which you always awaken at the same point? Are there
certain people to whom you are drawn and not to others?
Past
Life Regressions are a way to explore the answers to these questions and
more. Often we find ourselves in patterns or acting in a certain ways.
We may feel as if we have no control or there are other reasons that this
is occurring. For some, this pattern is not from this lifetime, but from
previous lifetimes, and doing a past life regression can often identify
the cause.
Past
Life Regressions can be achieved through hypnosis, and it’s a good
idea to have a trained practitioner on hand during your regression. Often
times, the regression is accomplished through deep progressive relaxation
followed by guided imagery. Once you reach the designated place for the
story to unfold, a good practitioner will ask you the necessary questions
to help you move through that lifetime.
Other
techniques to project a past life include automatic writing, dream interpretation,
connecting to your higher consciousness, and visiting the Akashic Records.
All of these are possible for all of us, but, of course, some are more
adept at moving into these altered states of consciousness more proficiently
than others. For some, it takes a few tries before achieving success at
a level of deep meditation.
It is
possible to remember our past lives because the physical body holds the
memories of feelings from this lifetime and other, past lifetimes. However,
it is not the body, per se, that holds emotional memory, but the soul.
When the soul fully embodies the body, it fills it with all of its memories,
knowledge, and wisdom, as well as its trials and shadows. Thus we move
through life. Each lifetime of experience adds more of the story, of the
complete picture.
Experience
has shown that accessing past lives can lead to the release of tensions,
fears, anxieties and other powerful feelings that seem ungrounded in our
current realities. For example, you may wonder why you are drawn to a
particular person in your life or why you have a certain phobia. Or perhaps
you may have a particular skill or a penchant for a certain field of study
or work and want to know why.
Once
the lifetime in question in accessed, fears can be understood and released,
or knowledge can potentially be carried back into this lifetime. It has
been found that the mere act of understanding what happened in that lifetime
can clear the feelings associated with it. Other times the past life regression
can just help you understand yourself more clearly.
Are
you one of the seventy-five percent of the world’s population that
assumes that we have all lived many lives? Would you like to remember
one of yours?
